Since February 2012, Shorea Training and Consultancy has had the privilege of working with the Toowoomba Regional Council, Queensland, University of Southern Queensland and The Pure Land Learning College's Multifaith Multicultural Centre in training religious and community leaders in facilitating multicultural and multifaith dialogue. This is part of the City of Toowoomb's vision to make : "Toowoomba a model city of peace and harmony" by "Strengthening social cohesion and promoting greater social trust through greater appreciation of diversity in faiths & believs across multicultural communities". Over 90 faith and community leaders have thus far attended the training sessions. Some of the faith traditions represented include: Christianity (various denominations), Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, Unitarian-Universalist, Wicca, Non-Religious Spiritual traditions. Also present were representatives from the Atheist, Agnositc and Humanist communities. Training will continue in 2013.
